Mylyn Xplanner connector, now with context

Posted by Daz Tue, 16 Jun 2009 19:47:12 GMT

I've installed XPlanner again at work recently and even started using it for my own projects. It's a nice structured way of keeping track of work but it's even nicer combined with Mylyn thanks to the people who developed the XPlanner connector for it. One of the useful features of Mylyn wasn't there though until now - the ability to share contexts with others (or your future self).

Ah, good old XPlanner. The Mylyn task context is the best feature of Eclipse in my opinion. Sharing is cool too. I guess I'll have to just write one for IntelliJ..... Incidentally they just turned on the web api on Jira here so we can actually use it too. I've been meaning to properly try Pivotal Tracker. It's more high level than XPlanner but it looks/feels nice: http://www.pivotaltracker.com/

Pivitol tracker could be good but for some reason I find it fiddly. XPlanner looks crap but is self explanatory. When are they going to hurry up and update the blinking thing.

Pivotal tracker looks like a really nice app,A non hosted version would make it a bit more palatable for companies wanting to try it given the nature of the kind of information they might be putting on it.

I think just restyling XPlanner would do so much more to make it look appealing. Then again as someone pointed out to me that's what mylyn is effectivly doing.

hi, nice XPlanner discussion. Now XPlanner looks better, and has improved features. It's called XPlanner+, also open source. http://xplanner-plus.sourceforge.net/
